Description

Make use of the free pick-up service at around 10:30 am, where you will be picked up from your hotel in Catania or the surrounding areas. Once you have arrived at the farm, visit the orange plantation. Walk inside and learn about the different kinds of citrus and production techniques, as well as various treatments from irrigation to collection, from the skilled staff. In addition, after this relaxing walk, visit the orchards, where you can stroll inside the park, full of typical Mediterranean plants out in the open air. Then, visit the palmento (millstone), located inside the patriarchal villa of the farm, with a sommelier. Learn the story behind the production of each bottle of wine, from the time of the pruning, to the vendemmia or harvest, through to the fermentation and aging. Discover the tradition of wine production pursued by the family who have owned this farm for generations. Finally, it's time for wine-tasting where you will have the opportunity to try 4 typical Sicilian wines; all the wines will be accompanied by a Sicilian lunch made up of traditionally dishes. During the wine-tasting tasting and lunch, discuss how to taste wines or how to read the label with your sommelier or ask any questions that you may have.
