  • Visit the Castle of Donnafugata, the Boss' house
  • See the Inspector's house in Punta Secca
  • Explore Scicli, the main city of the set
  • Try traditional Sicilian food, desserts, and chocolate

Be picked up from your accomodation in Catania or in the close vicinity at around 8:30 and head to the first stop of the tour, Donnafugata Castle, which you might recognise as the residence of the mob boss in Inspector Montalbano. More than just a setting, the castle is a patchwork of architectural and artistic styles, including one Venetian Gothic facade and Baroque interior. Here, visit the many decorated rooms such as a Hall of Mirrors, a music room, and royal bedrooms before walking through the castle's gardens which contain a 300 year old ficus and a labyrinth. In addition, visit an ancient cheese factory, learn about the production of cheese, and taste the famous Ragusano cheese.  Next, stop at Marinella and Montalbano’s house by the sea. Marinella is actually Punta Secca, a small fishing village where you can spot Montalbano’s house as well as visit its lighthouse, small port, and an old watchtower. You will then have free time to explore the village or enjoy the beach with a free traditional Sicilian packed lunch. After lunch, arrive at Scicli, home to the police station in Vigata which is actually the town hall of Scicli, located on the beautifully conserved baroque street of Via Mormino Penna. Furthermore, Scicli is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and there are many baroque churches, palaces, and historical buildings for you to explore. Here, you will also have a free tasting of Sicilian cannoli.  Finally, visit Modica, yet another glorious baroque town and UNESCO heritage site. Walking around its streets, you won't be able to miss the magnificent Church of San Giorgio and the handsome façade of Palazzo Polara which both appear in the Montalbano TV series. In addition, you will have a free tasting of Modican chocolate, made exactly how it was by Aztecs.
