Get ready to visit one of the most active volcanoes in the world by climbing up to 8500 feet (2600 m) of altitude. You will board an off-road vehicle and then continue by cable car reaching 8200 feet (2500 m), the hike will start from a beautiful panoramic area close to the summit active craters at about 8500 feet (2600 m). From here you have a first fascinating view of the true volcanic landscape of Etna with its active smoky craters on one side and the splendid view over the entire Ionian coast on the other. You will have the opportunity to explore this area of the volcano with an expert guide at your side, who will get you through a path that follows the craters formed during the eruptions of the years 2001. The uphill path will take us to the top of the 2001 crater, after which the descent will begin on the volcanic ash accumulated during the various eruptions to reach the large caldera called “Valle del Bove”, the wide depression where most of the lava flows.
